Product details for your Hague HydroClean HC3.
Every home has different water hardness levels and flow demands. We start with science (your actual water test) and recommend from there - including whether HydroClean HC3 is the right fit.
We measure your water’s hardness, iron content, pH, and other factors that affect system performance - no guesswork, no sales pitches.
Based on your test results and household size, we recommend a system that handles your actual water demand without oversizing or waste.
If HydroClean HC3 is the right fit, we explain why, what it will and will not do, and the installed price in plain English.
Our licensed technicians install your softener with minimal disruption, then stay on for maintenance, salt, and questions — the same team that put it in.
Contact EPA Water Consultants today and schedule your water test or consultation.
We measure hardness and related water issues at your taps. No cost, no obligation.
If HydroClean is the fit, we explain why, what it will and will not do, and what it costs - including when another product (like WaterMax) is a better match.
Most installs are scheduled within 1–2 weeks. We can keep you in salt and service the valve, resin, and brine tank over time.
Straight answers about the Hague HydroClean HC3 - benefits, warranty, salt use, and how it compares to other softeners we install.
The Hague HydroClean HC3 Water Softener helps eliminate unpleasant odors, tastes, and colors, and filters out hard water deposits like calcium. Soft water also means soap scum is no longer an issue, brighter and cleaner clothes, and pipes and water heaters that last longer.
The HC3 has proven to be a quality water softener in over 500,000 U.S. homes and includes a 15 year limited warranty. When contaminants beyond hardness show up on a test, we often pair HydroClean with reverse osmosis or PFAS filtration.
Both HydroClean and the WaterMax Signature Series treat hardness, but they are different product lines with different valves, features, warranties, and price points.
We recommend the system that matches your water, budget, and how you prefer to handle maintenance. You will not be upsold into equipment you do not need.
Yes. HydroClean uses salt to regenerate the resin, or potassium chloride if you prefer a sodium-free regenerant. How many bags you go through depends on your hardness level and family size, so two nearby homes can use very different amounts each month.
We estimate usage from those numbers so you can plan cost and storage before the brine tank is set. If you would rather not haul 40-pound bags yourself, salt delivery can keep the tank stocked on a regular route.
Properly set ion-exchange systems add a small amount of sodium in place of hardness minerals, and that swap almost never produces a salty taste at the tap. Brine is used during regeneration and then rinsed to drain; it is not meant to enter the lines you drink from. If sodium is a dietary concern, we can run potassium chloride and add a dedicated drinking-water tap.
An under-sink reverse osmosis faucet is the usual way to keep cooking water low in dissolved solids when you are watching sodium. Off tastes right after a new install are more often old scale loosening in the pipes than salt in the soft water.
A typical whole-house HydroClean install is completed in a single visit once plumbing, drain, and electrical needs are confirmed. Most standard jobs take a few hours on site rather than an all-day shutdown of the house. We bring the mineral tank, brine tank, and fittings for a normal bypass so you are not waiting on a second trip for parts.
Most jobs are on the calendar within 1–2 weeks of your water test. Tight crawl spaces, well-pump constraints, or removing a failed unit can add time, and we flag that before the crew arrives.
We service softeners we did not install, including brands that are no longer sold. That work includes evaluating existing equipment, repairing control valves, and replacing resin when the bed will no longer take a charge. If the tank and valve are still sound, continued repair and maintenance is often the honest path.
We will tell you when a HydroClean (or another) upgrade is actually warranted versus throwing parts at a leaking or undersized unit. You leave with a clear repair-versus-replace recommendation, not a pressure pitch.
Real Google reviews from homeowners about water softeners we install across Eastern Pennsylvania.
“A great experience with Matthew! We had no previous experience and purchased a home with a water softener, and EPA reached out to let us know they installed the system and scheduled a maintenance visit. Matthew explained everything in detail and was super friendly and flexible with timing.”
“One of the best decisions after buying our new house was to hire Mark/EPA to put in our water softener. Professional, kind and responsive. It was a pleasure to have Mark and his grandson install our water softener.”
“I used EPA for a water softener system in home I recently purchased. Mark came out and was beyond professional, very elaborate of the process and went over every detail with me of the installation. I couldn’t be happier with the results. The installation comes with all full tank of salt and 8 replacement bags that should last you the rest of the year.”
