What it is. A reverse osmosis system is a point-of-use filter, typically located under the kitchen sink, that pushes water through a semi-permeable membrane to reduce dissolved solids, chlorine taste, and many common contaminants at the drinking tap. Unlike a whole home filter, RO focuses on the water you drink and cook with.
Why it matters. City treatment and fridge pitchers don’t always leave water tasting the way you want. High TDS, metallic notes, chlorine, and other dissolved issues show up in coffee, ice, and cooking. RO gives you a dedicated drinking-water tap so you’re not hauling bottled water.
